JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A hiker was airlifted after falling at the Jessamine Creek Gorge.
A hiker told LEX 18 that he saw a woman, possibly in her early 20s, fall while climbing in the area. She said he heard a call for help and rushed to her.
He estimated she fell about 50 feet.
Emergency workers say they were called to the scene a little after 1 p.m. The terrain made the area difficult to get to, so the National Guard had to be called in to use a helicopter to airlift the woman out.
She has non-life-threatening injuries.
