FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18)– A Frankfort school plans to hand out hundreds of books this summer and they’re looking for donations to keep their bins full.
Once a month, the Franklin County Farmers Market hosts a Kids Day and Capital Day School in Frankfort hands out books for free to kids of all ages, and even sometimes parents. This month, they gave out 300.
School officials worry they will run out of books to give by the end of the summer, so they are looking for people to donate gently used books.
“We want to be a part of helping people share the resources that they have, and redistribute them to people who will appreciate them,” said Tim Corkran, the Head of School at the Capital Day School.
If you’d like to help out, you can call Capital Day School and drop off your books at the main building. They can also do pickups in Frankfort.
Kids Day at the Farmers Market falls on the second Saturday of every month.
